How Famous Companies were Named???

Do take time out and read this. It's amazing how these famous companies were christened!! !

Yahoo!

The word was invented by Jonathan Swift and used in his book Gulliver's Travels. It represents a person who is repulsive in appearance and action and is barely human. Yahoo! founders Jerry Yang and David Filo selected the name because they considered themselves yahoos.

Xerox

The Greek root "xer" means dry. The inventor, Chestor Carlson , named his product Xerox as it was dry copying, markedly different from the then prevailing wet copying.

Sun Microsystems

Founded by four Stanford University buddies, Sun is the acronym for Stanford University Network.

Sony

From the Latin word 'sonus' meaning sound, and 'sonny' a slang used by Americans to refer to a bright youngster.

SAP

"Systems, Applications, Products in Data Processing", formed by four ex-IBM employees who used to work in the 'Systems/Applicatio ns/Projects' group of IBM.

Red Hat

Company founder Marc Ewing was given the Cornell lacrosse team cap (with red and white stripes) while at college by his grandfather. He lost it and had to search for it desperately. The manual of the beta version of Red Hat Linux had an appeal to readers to return his Red Hat if found by anyone!

Oracle

Larry Ellison and Bob Oats were working on a consulting project for the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA). The code name for the project was called Oracle (the CIA saw this as the system to give answers to all questions or something such).

Motorola

Founder Paul Galvin came up with this name when his company started manufacturing radios for cars. The popular radio company at the time was called Victrola.

Microsoft

It was coined by Bill Gates to represent the company that was devoted to MICROcomputer SOFTware. Originally christened Micro-Soft, the '-' was removed later on.

Lotus

Mitch Kapor got the name for his company from the lotus position or 'padmasana.' Kapor used to be a teacher of Transcendental Meditation of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi.

Intel

Bob Noyce and Gordon Moore wanted to name their new company ' Moore Noyce' but that was already trademarked by a hotel chain, so they had to settle for an acronym of INTegrated ELectronics.

Hewlett-Packard

Bill Hewlett and Dave Packard tossed a coin to decide whether the company they founded would be called Hewlett-Packard or Packard-Hewlett.

Hotmail

Founder Jack Smith got the idea of accessing email via the web from a computer anywhere in the world. When Sabeer Bhatia came up with the business plan for the mail service, he tried all kinds of names ending in 'mail' and finally settled for Hotmail as it included the letters "html" - the programming language used to write web pages. It was initially referred to as HoTMaiL with selective upper casings.

Google

The name started as a jockey boast about the amount of information the search-engine would be able to search. It was originally named 'Googol', a word for the number represented by 1 followed by 100 zeros. After founders - Stanford graduate students Sergey Brin and Larry Page presented their project to an angel investor, they received a cheque made out to 'Google

Cisco

The name is not an acronym but an abbreviation of San Francisco . The company's logo reflects its San Francisco name heritage. It represents a stylized Golden Gate Bridge .

Apple Computers

Favourite fruit of founder Steve Jobs. He was three months late in filing a name for the business, and he threatened to call his company Apple Computers if the other colleagues didn't suggest a better name by 5 o'clock.

Apache

It got its name because its founders got started by applying patches to code written for NCSA's httpd daemon. The result was 'A PAtCHy' server - thus, the name Apache.

Adobe

The name came from the river Adobe Creek that ran behind the house of founder John Warnock .

Top 10 annoying office habits

Overbearing, obsessively rude, noisy, and opinionated – there are so many things that can be found annoying in that one person in office. So, what actually are some of the ‘universally’ bad behaviours for office work? Here's a look at the top 10 annoying office habits...

1. Office drummers - There are lesser annoying office habits than the person who has to tap out a rhythm while waiting for their brain to submerge into the work they’re assigned.

2. Foghorn phone voice - The breed of office worker who raises their tone several decibels as soon as they pick up the phone.

3. Pod pong - Well, these are those people who marinate themselves in perfumes overnight.

4. Key smashers - All offices have at least one person who appears to think that to make the little symbols on their keyboard appear on the screen, they need to exert the force of an atomic bomb through the ends of their digits.

5. Paid for nothing - In this case, an employee gets paid for standing out in the sunshine chatting to wheezy and addicted mates while the fresh-lunged members of the workforce are indoors putting their mind to work.

6. Snot funny - What is it with people, who riddled with pleurisy, the bubonic plague or cancer of the entire body, still think it's a good idea to come in to work? The world really won't stop if that report doesn't get finished and the boss more likely regards you as a mug than a martyr. Your work mates, of course, will shower you with love for ruining their plans for the weekend and keeping their kids out of school.

7. Lucifer's lunch - Egg and mayonnaise sandwiches, tuna fishcakes, blue cheese with crackers, breakfast burritos with extra onion and chips with salt and vinegar – all food items which should be banned from the workplace, thanks to their smell.

8. Ringtone hell - This section includes all those people who play bits of their favourite heavy metal music collection from a speaker on their desk, via their mobile phone.

9. Space invaders - You distinctly remember hearing the boss bring your new work mate over to his or her work area and say, "This is your desk". The boss did not follow that up with the words, "but feel free to use your colleague's desk for overspill if there's not enough room for your inane gossip magazines and pictures of your 17 children".

10. Eau de underarm - There are fewer things more obnoxious than a damp-shirted male who, after working up a sweat running for the bus, is left to "mature" over a keyboard for eight hours.

Six ways to make people like you

Principle 1: Become genuinely interested in other people.

A simple way to make a good impression.
The expression one wears on one's face if far more important than the clothes one wears on one's back.
Actions speak louder than words, and a smile says, " I like you. You make me happy. I am glad to see you."
You must have a good time meeting people if you expect them to have a good time meeting you.
You don't feel like smiling?
Then what?
Two things.
First, force yourself to smile.
If you are alone, force yourself to whistle or hum a tune or sing.
Act as if you were already happy, and that will tend to make you happy.
"Action seems to follow feeling, but really action and feeling go together; and by regulating the action, which is under the more direct control of the will, we can indirectly regulate the feeling, which is not." -William James.
Happiness doesn't depend on outward conditions.
It depends on inner conditions.
It isn't what you have or who you are or where you are or what you are doing that makes you happy or unhappy.
It is what you think about it. "There is nothing either good or bad," said Shakespeare, "but thinking makes it so."
Your smile is a messenger of your good will.
Your smile brightens the lives of all who see it.
To someone who has seen a dozen people frown, scowl or turn their faces away, your smile is like the sun breaking through the clouds.

Principle 2: Smile.

If you don't do this, you are headed for trouble
The average person is more interested in his or her own name than all the other names on earth put together.
Remember that name and call it easily, and you have paid a subtle and very effective compliment.
But forget it or misspell it-and you have place yourself at a sharp disadvantage.
Whenever you meet a new acquaintance, find out his or her complete name and some facts about his or her family, business or political opinions.
Fix all these facts well in mind as part of the picture, and the next time you meet that person, even if it was a year later, you will be able to shake hands, inquire after the family, and ask about the hollyhocks in the backyard.
Sometimes it is difficult to remember a name, particularly if it is hard to pronounce.
Rather than even try to learn it, many people ignore it or call the person by an easy nickname.
Most people don't remember names, for the simple reason that they don't take the time and energy necessary to concentrate and repeat and fix names indelibly in their minds.
If you don't hear the name distinctly say excuse me I didn't get your name clearly.
Then, if it is an unusual name, ask how it is spelled.
Use the person's name several times in the conversation; try to associate it in your mind with the person's features, expression and general appearance.
Then, when you are alone write the name down on a piece of paper, look at it, and concentrate on it, fix it securely in your mind, in this way you will gain an eye impression of the name as well as an ear impression.

Principle 3: Remember that a person's name is to that person the sweetest and most important sound in any language.

An easy way to become a good conversationalist
Listen intently; listen because you are genuinely interested.
That kind of listening is one of the highest compliments we can pay anyone.
The chronic kicker, even the most violent critic, will frequently soften and be subdued in the presence of a patient, sympathetic listener-a listener who will be silent with the irate fault-finger dilates like a king cobra and spews the poison out of his system.
Be more eager to hear what a person has to say then even they are to tell it.
Many people prefer good listeners to good talkers, but the ability to listen seems rarer than almost any other good trait.
All we want when we are in trouble is a friendly, sympathetic listener to unburden yourself.
That is frequently all the irritated customer wants, and the dissat isfied employee or the hurt friend.
If you want to know how to make people shun you and laugh at you behind your back and even despise you, here is the recipe: Never listen to anyone for long.
Talk incessantly about yourself.
If you have an idea while the other person is talking, don't wait for him or her to finish: bust right in and interrupt in the middle of a sentence.
If you aspire to be a good conversationalist, be an attentive listener.
To be interesting, be interested.
Ask questions that other persons will enjoy answering.
Encourage them to talk about themselves and their accomplishments.

Principle 4: Be a good listener. Encourage others to talk about themselves.. .

How to interest people
The royal road to a person's heart is to talk about the things he or she treasures most.
Make an effort to find out what interests the person then get them talking about it.
Talking in terms of the other person's interests pays off for both parties.
When asked what reward he got from it, Mr. Herzig responded that he not only received a different reward from each person but that in general the reward had been an enlargement of his life each time he spoke to someone.

Principle 5: Talk in terms of the other person's interests.

How to make people like you instantly.
Ask yourself " What is there about him or her that I can honestly admire?"
That is sometimes a hard question to answer, especially with strangers.
You want approval of those with whom you come in contact.
You want recognition of your true worth.
You want a feeling that your are important in our little world.
You don't want to listen to cheap, insincere flattery, but you do crave sincere appreciation.
So let's obey the Golden Rule, and give unto others what we would have others give unto us.
How?
When?
Where?
The answer is all the time, everywhere.
Use little phrases such as "I'm sorry to trouble you, ___." "Would you please ___?" "Won't you please?" "Would you mind?" "Thank you."
The unvarnished truth is that almost all the people you meet feel themselves superior to you in some way, and a sure way to their hearts is to let them realize in some subtle way that you recognize their importance, and recognize it sincerely.
Talk to people about themselves and they will listen for hours.

Principle 6: Make the other person feel important-and do it sincerely.

In a Nutshell: Six ways to make people like you
Become genuinely interested in other people.
Smile.
Remember that a person's name is to that person the sweetest and most important sound in any language.
Be a good listener.
Encourage others to talk about themselves. Talk in terms of the other person's interests.
Make the other person feel important and do it sincerely.

Kick Depression

First trick:
Get out of your head and into your feet.
The body craves movement.
Exercise really works.
Let's not think of it as exercise though.
Nothing is gnarlier to the depressed person than imagining him/herself at the gym in ill fitting sweats, panting on the stair master while svelte athletes are bopping around in all directions.

As Woody Allen says, 90% of success is showing up. Once we've got our walking shoes on, once we get endorphins cooking, the doldrums have less power to penetrate .

Second trick:
Turn on music!
Now!
I recommend that my clients have an arsenal of inspiring and fun music at their fingertips.
I have even been known to make CD's for my clients.
When we're depressed, the smallest task feels overwhelming.
If I can kick-start someone's joy, then I am thrilled.

Third trick:
Turn on the light and sit in the sun.
Many of us work in windowless cubicles or offices, and wonder why we feel blue.

This time of year, when the sun sets earlier, we must 's dark out in autumn and winter, get a light, get some sun, get some more sun.
And if there is no sun in your world, then buy a full-spectrum light.
Get one cheap on E-bay.

Fourth trick:
Hang out with 4-leggeds. (Unless of course, you're allergic)
Having an animal companion near can instantly relaease oxytocin, that magical hormone that we secrete when we fall in love, give birth, or are nursing.
It releases a feeling of goodwill, or trust in the world.
OK, so not all of all are blessed to be in love all the time, or be breast feeding, so I recommend my clients find other ways to bring on the joy chemical.
Read on.

Fifth trick:
Change your thoughts.
Right now.
We have around 60,000.00 thoughts per day.
87% of them are negative and are the same thoughts we had yesterday.

Experiencing joy is a deliberate choice.
Joy takes practice.
Joy is hardcore.
I use realistic affirmations, which, at times are posted all over my room.
Notice I said realistic.

We must remember that affirmations don't make something happen, they make something welcome.
People tell me, "I put an affirmation up on my bedroom wall, saying:"I am ready to meet a gorgeous, successful, charming man who will adore and worship me." It's been 3 months. Where is he?"
I tell them; "You have made yourself more open to meeting this human.
Finding him is another story. Sorry."

Sixth Trick:
Follow a joyous lifestyle.
Choose joyous entertainment.
Find a class, a workout, anything that gets you in your body, preferably sweating a bit.

Seventh Trick:
Affirm joy with words.
Rudyard Kipling said "I am by calling a dealer in words.
And words are by far the most powerful drug in the world".
It may seem trite, but changing the way we speak can be extremely influential in changing our moods.

Eighth Trick:
Grab hold of a goal.
Make it a do-able one.
Happiness and joy come from goals.
We mustn't put off our lives.

Ninth Trick:
Cultivate a relationship with the divine.
We are whom our higher self wanted to experience.
There is some truth to the pithy phrase: There's no aetheists in foxholes.
Have a smidgens of faith and the world can be a gentler space.

Tenth Trick:
Choose joyous companions.
When we are depressed, we take our bored, sluggish selves wherever we go.
We need distractions.
We need company.
We need intimacy.
It is very important to be around authentic people.
We need someone who believes in us.
No nay-sayers!

Good Morning...

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;
Then took the other, just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that passing there
Had worn them really about the same,
And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I -
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

Good morning

If you think you are beaten, you are.
If you think you dare not, you don’t
If you like to win but think you can’t,
It’s almost a cinch you won’t.

If you think you’ll lose, you’re lost.
For out in the world we find
Success begins with a fellow’s will
It’s all in the state of mind.

If you think you are outclassed, you are.
You’ve got to think high to rise.
You’ve got to be sure of yourself before
You can ever win the prize.

Life’s battles don’t always go
To the stronger or faster man.
But sooner or later, the man who wins
Is the man who thinks he can.

PILES / HEMORRHOIDS

Piles or haemorrhoids is one of the most common ailments today. It is a varicose and often inflamed condition of the veins, inside or just outside the rectum. In external piles, there is a lot of pain but not much bleeding. In the case of internal piles, there is discharge of dark blood. In some cases the veins burst and this results in what is known as bleeding piles.

Hemorrhoids/Piles Definition
Hemorrhoids are swollen and inflamed blood veins around the anus, rectal tunnel, or lower rectum. They can be internal or external and visible.
The hemorrhoids are caused from an increase in venous pressure by straining to have a bowel movement and cause itching, pain, and sometimes bleeding.

Piles Symptoms
Pain or irritation while passing stools, bleeding
Pain at passing stools, slight bleeding in the case of internal trouble, and feeling of soreness and irritation after passing a stool are the usual symptoms of piles. The patient cannot sit comfortably due to itching , discomfory, and pain in the rectal region.
Piles causes
Chronic constipation, bowel disorders
The primary cause of piles is chronic constipation and other bowel disorders. The straining in order to evacuate the constipated bowels, and the pressure thus caused on the surrounding veins leads to piles. Piles are more common during pregnancy and in conditions affecting the liver and upper bowel.
Other causes
Other causes are prolonged periods of standing or sitting , strenuous work, obesity, general weakness of the tissues of the body, mental tension, and heredity.

Piles treatment using Dry Figs (Anjeer)
Three of four figs should be soaked overnight in water after being cleaned thoroughly in hot water. They should be taken first thing in the morning along with the water in which they were soaked. They should also be taken in evening in the similar manner. This treatment should be continued for three or four weeks. The tiny seeds of the fruit possess all excellent quality of stimulating peristaltic movement of the intestines. This facilitates easy evacuation of faeces and keeps the alimentary canal clean. The pressure on the anus thus being relieved, the hemorrhoids also contract.
Piles treatment using Mango Seeds
Mango seeds are an effective remedy for bleeding piles. The seeds should be collected during the mango season, dried in the shade, powdered, and kept stored for use as medicine. This powder should be given in doses of about one and a half to two grams with or without honey, twice daily

This vegetable can also be taken in the form of juice mixed with a pinch of salt. It should be given in doses of 60 to 90 ml, morning and evening. White radish, well ground into a paste in milk. can also be applied over inflamed pile masses to relieve pain and swelling.
Piles treatment using Turnip
The leaves of turnip have been found useful in this disease. The juice of these leaves should be extracted and 150 ml given to the patient. It is, however, necessary to take a proper diet of raw fruits and vegetables while taking this juice. For better results, 50 ml of the juice should be mixed with equal quantities of juices of watercress, spinach, and carrots.
Piles treatment using Bitter Gourd (karela)
The juice of the fresh leaves of bitter gourd is also valuable in piles. Three teaspoons of the leaf juice, mixed with a glass of buttermilk, should be taken every morning for treating this condition. The fruit should be roasted to a brown colour in cluster oil, and then powdered and stored. Half a teaspoon of this powder at bedtime will bring about normal bowel movements in the morning, and the astringent property of the fruit will heal masses. A decoction of the herb prepared by boiling six 10 seven dry fruits in half a litre of water should be used for washing bleeding piles. The paste of the fruit mixed in a bland oil is good as an external application.

Piles diet
Fruit diet
The treatment of the basic cause, namely, chronic constipation, is the only way to get rid of the trouble. To begin with, the entire digestive tract must be given a complete rest for a few days and the intestines thoroughly cleansed. For this purpose, the patient should adopt an all-fruit diet for, at least, seven days. Thereafter he may adopt a diet of natural foods aimed at securing soft stools.

Other Piles treatment
Exercise
A patient with piles must make an all-out effort to tone up the entire system. Exercise plays an important corrective rule in this condition. Movements which exercise the abdominal muscles will improve circulation in the rectal region and relieve congestion.

The Benefits of Wheatgrass

The Benefits of Wheatgrass

Excerpts from The Wheatgrass Book by Ann Wigmore
WHEATGRASS JUICE...
Increases red blood-cell count and lowers blood pressure.
It cleanses the blood, organs and gastrointestinal tract of debris.
Wheatgrass also stimulates metabolism and the body’s enzyme systems by enriching the blood.
It also aids in reducing blood pressure by dilating the blood pathways throughout the body.

Stimulates the thyroid gland, correcting obesity, indigestion, and a host of other complaints.
Restores alkalinity to the blood. The juice's abundance of alkaline minerals helps reduce over-acidity in the blood. It can be used to relieve many internal pains, and has been used successfully to treat peptic ulcers, ulcerative colitis, constipation, diarrhea, and other complaints of the gastrointestinal tract.
Is a powerful detoxifier, and liver and blood protector. The enzymes and amino acids found in wheatgrass can protect us from carcinogens like no other food or medicine. It strengthens our cells, detoxifies the liver and bloodstream, and chemically neutralizes environmental pollutants.
Fights tumors and neutralizes toxins. Recent studies show that wheatgrass juice has a powerful ability to fight tumors without the usual toxicity of drugs that also inhibit cell-destroying agents. The many active compounds found in grass juice cleanse the blood and neutralize and digest toxins in our cells.
Contains beneficial enzymes. Whether you have a cut finger you want to heal or you desire to lose five pounds...enzymes must do the actual work. The life and abilities of the enzymes found naturally in our bodies can be extended if we help them from the outside by adding exogenous enzymes, like the ones found in wheatgrass juice. Don't cook it. We can only get the benefits of the many enzymes found in grass by eating it uncooked. Cooking destroys 100 percent of the enzymes in food.
Has remarkable similarity to our own blood. The second important nutritional aspect of chlorophyll is its remarkable similarity to hemoglobin, the compound that carries oxygen in the blood. Dr. Yoshihide Hagiwara, president of the Hagiwara Institute of Health in Japan, is a leading advocate for the use of grass as food and medicine. He reasons that since chlorophyll is soluble in fat particles, and fat particles are absorbed directly into the blood via the lymphatic system, that chlorophyll can also be absorbed in this way. In other words, when the "blood" of plants is absorbed in humans it is transformed into human blood, which transports nutrients to every cell of the body.
When used as a rectal implant, reverses damage from inside the lower bowel. An implant is a small amount of juice held in the lower bowel for about 20 minutes. In the case of illness, wheatgrass implants stimulate a rapid cleansing of the lower bowel and draw out accumulations of debris.

Externally applied to the skin can help eliminate itching almost immediately.
Will soothe sunburned skin and act as a disinfectant. Rubbed into the scalp before a shampoo, it will help mend damaged hair and alleviate itchy, scaly, scalp conditions.
Is soothing and healing for cuts, burns, scrapes, rashes, poison ivy, athlete's foot, insect bites, boils, sores, open ulcers, tumors, and so on. Use as a poultice and replace every two to four hours.
Works as a sleep aide. Merely place a tray of living wheatgrass near the head of your bed. It will enhance the oxygen in the air and generate healthful negative ions to help you sleep more soundly.
Enhances your bath. Add some to your bath water and settle in for a nice, long soak.
Sweetens the breath and firms up and tightens gums. Just gargle with the juice.

Neutralizes toxic substances like cadmium, nicotine, strontium, mercury, and polyvinyl chloride.
Offers the benefits of a liquid oxygen transfusion since the juice contains liquid oxygen. Oxygen is vital to many body processes: it stimulates digestion (the oxidation of food), promotes clearer thinking (the brain utilizes 25% of the body's oxygen supply), and protects the blood against anaerobic bacteria. Cancer cells cannot exist in the presence of oxygen.

Turns gray hair to its natural color again and greatly increases energy levels when consumed daily.
Is a beauty treatment that slows down the aging process when the juice is consumed. Wheatgrass will cleanse your blood and help rejuvenate aging cells, slowing the aging process way down, making you feel more alive right away. It will help tighten loose and sagging skin.
Lessens the effects of radiation. One enzyme found in wheatgrass, SOD, lessens the effects of radiation and acts as an anti-inflammatory compound that may prevent cellular damage following heart attacks or exposure to irritants.

Restores fertility and promotes youthfulness.
Can double your red blood cell count just by soaking in it. Renowned nutritionist Dr. Bernard Jensen found that no other blood builders are superior to green juices and wheatgrass. In his book Health Magic Through Chlorophyll from Living Plant Life he mentions several cases where he was able to double the red blood cell count in a matter of days merely by having patients soak in a chlorophyll-water bath. Blood building results occur even more rapidly when patients drink green juices and wheatgrass regularly.

WHAT'S SO GREAT ABOUT WHEATGRASS JUICE?

1.

Wheatgrass juice is 70% chlorophyll.

2.

Chlorophyll is the first product of light and contains more light energy than any other element.

3.

Wheatgrass juice is a crude chlorophyll and can be taken orally and as a colon implant without toxic side effects.

4.

Chlorophyll is the basis of all plant life.

5.

Wheatgrass is high in oxygen like all green plants that contain chlorophyll. The brain and all body tissues function at an optimal level in a highly oxygenated environment.

6.

Chlorophyll is anti-bacterial and can be used inside and outside the body as a healer.

7.

Renowned nutritionist Dr. Bernard Jensen says that it only takes minutes to digest wheatgrass juice and it uses up very little body energy.

8.

Science has proven that chlorophyll arrests growth and development of harmful bacteria.

9.

Chlorophyll (wheatgrass) rebuilds the bloodstream. Studies of various animals have shown chlorophyll to be free of any toxic reaction. The red cell count was returned to normal with four to five days of the administration of chlorophyll, even in those animals that were known to be extremely anemic or low in red cell count.

10.

Farmers in the American midwest who have sterile cows and bulls put them on wheatgrass to restore fertility. (The high magnesium content in chlorophyll builds enzymes that restore the sex hormones.)

11.

Chlorophyll can be extracted from many plants, but wheatgrass is superior because it has been found to have over 100 elements needed by man. If grown in organic soil, it absorbs 92 of the known 102 minerals from the soil.

12.

Wheatgrass has what is called the "grass juice factor," which has been shown to keep herbivorous animals alive indefinitely.

13.

Dr. Ann Wigmore helped people get well from chronic disorders for 30 years using wheatgrass.

14.

Liquid chlorophyll gets into the tissues, refines them, and rebuilds and rejuvenates them.

15.

Wheatgrass juice is a superior detoxification agent compared to carrot juice and other fruits and vegetables. Dr. Earp Thomas, an associate of the late Ann Wigmore, says that 15 pounds of wheatgrass is the equivalent of 350 pounds of carrots, lettuce, celery, and so on.

16.

Liquid chlorophyll washes drug deposits from the body.

17.

Chlorophyll neutralizes toxins in the body.

18.

Chlorophyll helps purify the liver.

19.

Chlorophyll improves blood sugar problems.

20.

Wheatgrass juice cures acne and even removes scars after it has been ingested for seven to eight months. The diet must be improved at the same time.

21.

In the 1940 American Journal of Surgery, Benjamin Cruskin, MD recommended chlorophyll to: clear up foul-smelling odors, neutralize strep infections, heal wounds, hasten skin grafting, cure chronic sinusitis, overcome chronic inner-ear inflammation and infections, reduce varicose veins and heal leg ulcers, eliminate impetigo and other scabby eruptions, heal rectal sores, successfully treat inflammation of the uterine cervix, get rid of parasitic vaginal infections, reduce typhoid fever, and cure advanced pyorrhea in many cases.

22.

Wheatgrass juice acts as a detergent in the body and is used as a body deodorant.

23.

A small amount of wheatgrass juice in the human diet prevents tooth decay.

24.

Wheatgrass juice held in the mouth for 5 minutes will eliminate toothaches and poisons from gums.

25.

Gargle with wheatgrass juice for a sore throat.

26.

For pyorrhea of the mouth, lay pulp of wheatgrass soaked in juice on diseased area in mouth or chew wheatgrass. Spit outthe pulp.

27.

Drink wheatgrass juice for skin problems such as eczema or psoriasis.

28.

Wheatgrass juice keeps the hair from graying.

29.

By taking wheatgrass juice, one may feel a difference in strength, endurance, health, and spirituality and experience a sense of well-being.

30.

Wheatgrass juice improves the digestion.

31.

It is great for blood disorders of all kinds.

32.

Wheatgrass juice is high in enzymes.

33.

Wheatgrass juice is an excellent skin cleanser and can be absorbed through the skin for nutrition. Pour green juice over your body in a tub of warm water and soak for 15 to 20 minutes. Rinse off with cool water.

34.

Wheatgrass implants (enemas) are great for healing and detoxifying the colon walls. The implants also heal and cleanse the internal organs. After an enema, wait 20 minutes, then implant 4-ounces of wheatgrass juice. Retain or 20 minutes.

35.

Wheatgrass juice is great for constipation and keeping the bowels open. It is high in magnesium.

36.

Dr. Max Bircher, a research scientist, inventor of muesli, and founder of the famed Bircher-Benner Clinic in Zurich, Switzerland, called chlorophyll "concentrated sun power." He said, "Chlorophyll increases the function of the heart, affects the vascular system, the intestines, the uterus, and the lungs.... It is therefore a tonic which, considering its stimulating properties, cannot be compared with any other. "

37.

According to Dr. Bircher, nature uses chlorophyll (wheatgrass) as a body cleanser, rebuilder, and neutralizer of toxins.

38.

Wheatgrass juice can dissolve the scars that are formed in the lungs from breathing acid gasses. The effect of carbon monoxide is minimized since chlorophyll increases hemoglobin production.

39.

Wheatgrass juice reduces high blood pressure as it enhances the capillaries.

40.

Wheatgrass juice can remove heavy metals from the body.

Good morning

A friend is like a flower,
a rose to be exact,
Or maybe like a brand new gate
that never comes unlatched.
A friend is like an owl,
both beautiful and wise.
Or perhaps a friend is like a ghost,
whose spirit never dies.
A friend is like a heart that goes
strong until the end.
Where would we be in this world
if we didn't have a friend.

Former Philippine President Corazon Aquino Passes Away

Corazon C. Aquino, 1933http://www.blogger.com/img/blank.gif-2009
By Beverly T. Natividad, Christine AvendaƱo

MANILA, Philippines—Her doctors said several times that she had only 72 hours to live, but a member of the Holy Spirit Adoration Sisters (also known as the Pink Sisters) predicted she would go on a First Saturday because of her devotion to Our Lady of Fatima.

The nun’s prediction, made to family and friends of the cancer-stricken Corazon Aquino, proved correct. A longtime Marian devotee, the former President passed on in the early hours yesterday, the first Saturday of the month.

Aquino, 76, died “peacefully” at 3:18 a.m. at the Makati Medical Center, according to her son, Senator Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III, who made the announcement at 5 a.m.

“She would have wanted to thank each and every one of you for all the prayers and your continued love and support. It was her wish for one another and for our country,” the senator told reporters.

The body now lies in state at the La Salle Green Hills gymnasium on Ortigas Avenue in Mandaluyong City, where it will remain for public viewing until Monday morning.

A private funeral is scheduled on Aug. 5, the senator said. He said his mother would be laid to rest next to his father, Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino Jr., at the Manila Memorial Park in ParaƱaque City.

Asked whether it was his mother’s wish to have a private funeral, Noynoy Aquino said the former President had been “a private citizen since stepping down” from power in 1992.

“To a degree, we would want to spend as much time as possible as a family with her,” he said, pointing out that both his parents had been “public property.”

Devotion to Our Lady of Fatima

In his homily at a Mass held at the Edsa Shrine at noon Saturday, Fr. Catalino Arevalo, SJ, said Aquino was a gift to the Philippines.

“Which other country has a Cory Aquino? Tayo lang (Only us),” said Arevalo, the former President’s spiritual mentor and close friend.

“What a great gift the Lord gave us in her. What a great gift we have lost,” he said.

Arevalo narrated his conversation with the Pink Sister on Friday: “The doctors kept on saying she had 72 hours, but she continued to live. Until this nun, who is a friend, said, ‘She will die tomorrow. She will have to go on a First Saturday because of her devotion to Our Lady of Fatima.’”

Marian devotees commit themselves to the First Saturday devotion in accordance with the promise of Our Lady of Fatima to Sister Lucia that those who do so will have a happy death.

Arevalo assured those present at the Mass that Aquino had “a very peaceful death.”

“She went in her sleep,” he said.

The assembly shed tears as Arevalo narrated anecdotes on Aquino’s last hours.

He said that during the Mass he celebrated for Aquino on Friday at the hospital, which was attended by family and close friends, he noticed that Makati Representative Teddyboy Locsin had disappeared.

He said Locsin, who wrote Aquino’s speeches as President, was later found at the stairwell of the hospital “crying his heart out.”

“Everybody loved her. People felt nothing but love for her because of all the love she gave to people,” Arevalo said, his own voice breaking.

People from all walks of life, many clad in yellow shirts, braved rain and heavy traffic to attend the Mass for Aquino at the historic Edsa Shrine, which was built as a memorial to the 1986 Edsa Revolution.

“Cory loved this shrine. This place is especially dear to her,” Arevalo said.

A Quarant’Ore—a 40-hour prayer vigil before the Blessed Sacrament—was held for Aquino at the Edsa Shrine starting on July 30 until noon Saturday.
